Using the weeks after the final classical choir concert nearby of the season to work ahead on music for the next season is recommended. Here are some activities you should try after the choir concert season ends.
Make an iPad band
If you have not heard of this then an iPad band is a group of five to six people with iPads that perform popular songs using their technology as their instruments. To introduce this to your choir members, you can share videos of an iPad band and give them the parameters of the assignment. You should then set them free to get creative.
Listen to others
If you want to develop your individual style as a musician then it is important to listen to others and learn from them. Watching other choir concerts helps you examine a variety of choral tones, repertoire, musical interpretations and expressions.
Have a moment of vocal wellness
If some of your choir members do not understand their vocal instruments then it is important to have them train appropriately. You can have a built-in vocal wellness moment throughout the semester course. Some ideas for vocal wellness include color diagrams, learning to perform laryngeal messages, playing around with SOVT exercises, building your own larynx with play dough or paper and so on.
The more your members know about their instruments, the better they become. You should consider any other vocal wellness moments you have used before a choir concert and after a choir concert.
Start working on new compositions
After classical choir concerts nearby, it is the perfect time to check the abilities of your singers to create, connect, and respond to choral music. An introduction to songwriting or composition is one way of approaching these domains. A few ideas utilizing free resources to get your members started include using a sound trap, using note flight and so on.
